If you own a new Camaro
with the base stereo system, then you know just how limited the sound
can be. It is lifeless, flat, and not very loud. Our kit is designed to allow you to easily add a 4
channel amp to your system to greatly improve your sound. What it does is
allows you to amplify the current speakers
in the car. The kit works by intercepting the audio signal from the
radio before it goes to the speakers. It is trasmitted to the trunk of the
car via a 4 channel rca cable; where you install any 4 channel aftermarket amp
of your liking. Once the signals are amplified, they are sent back to the
front and tied back into the harness going out to all the car's
speakers. The speed cable is actually 9 wires and we use the extra wire as
the remote-on wire for your new amp. Installation is
straightforward. The included T-harness connects behind your radio.
Simply unplug the main radio harness and connect the T-harness portion of our
kit in-between the car's harness and the radio. Both the 4 ch. RCA cable
and the 9-wire Speedwire can be routed under the drivers side door trim and
under the rear seat to the back of the trunk. Hook-up is incredibly
simple. The RCA cables are your inputs and the 9-wire speed wire connects
to the output terminals on your amp. The solid blue wire on the speed wire
is your amp's turn-on wire. Please note that this will not power your
amp. You will need to supply your amp with power and ground from the
battery (located under the trunk floor).
Now that you have 4 channel RCA's in the back,
you can connect multiple amps by splitting off the signal or
using master/slave amp outputs. If you are looking for a stealthy way
to mount your amp, you can use our replacment amp mount item: 5G-FFA. It
installs behind the carpet on the drivers side rear trunk wall, completely out
of view and will hold a small multi-channel amp. Please note that you may
need a flat washer and 6mm nut to secure it since Non BA cars do not have this
hardware. Please check the size of your amp to verify the fitment on the
5G-FFA.
