First and formost, by adding these plates, it will greatly stiffen your rear deck to eliminate much of the rattle you have experienced.  Plus the 3\/4\" thickness gives you that much more clearance in your trunk for cargo and other things.  When installing, we recommend applying a bead of sealant to the underside of the plate before fastening to the deck.  While you are working with the rear deck area, you can add a layer of sound deadening to your deck and over the plates or just over the deck and under the plates like in our example.
